A BIG Weekend Part 1

Things in Aaron's world are getting bigger.

When we first brought him home we gave him his baths holding him over the bathroom sink. Once his umbilical stump fell off he sat in a hammock in his tub on the counter.

At about 3 months the hammock came out and he sat in the tub on the counter. But around 4 months he was splashing too much so we put the baby tub in the big tub.

At about 5 months Aaron decided that there was no reason to SIT in the tub when more fun could be had while STANDING. My back did not appreciate this decision.

And so for about 5 months now I have had much back pain and much Tylenol.

And Aaron has had much fun.

He can even make the water go through the tub faucet or the shower head. And back again. And back again. And back again.

But when Aaron started climbing out of the baby tub and getting wedged between it and the big tub I said, "enough". And we bought a skid mat.
Now Aaron has much MORE fun.
I have less back pain and less Tylenol.
But he still prefers to stand.

A BIG Weekend Part 2

Aaron made it clear the night he was born that sleeping would not be his preference. It is logical, as I have heard that most geniuses were/are troubled sleepers. :)

In an attempt to be able to get Aaron to sleep somewhere other than our bed which is quite high off the ground, we sold the crib and bought Aaron his very own twin bed. Mattress only. He loved it immediately. Probably because it came wrapped in yummy yummy plastic!

He practiced getting on and off right away, at which he is getting better. And then he took a nap on it! And I did something else besides sit on death-watch, because if he rolls off this bed, he will be just fine.

Yay!

A Very Merry Half-Birthday To You!

On Wednesday Aaron turned 10 months. Two days before that his best friend Ben turned 6 months.

We went to Ben's Grandma Carol's house for Ben's Very Merry Half-Birthday. The boys used the skills they've learned at swim lessons in the wading pool.

And Aaron met his first farm animal.

Little Swinger

Grandma, Grandpa, and Uncle Tim Tom put up Aaron's swing at Grandma's and Grandpa's house. He loved it. Except for when we pushed him too hard and all his color drained from his face... but other than that...

MVP

Aaron had some fun on Moday playing basketball with Grandpa, Uncle Kevin, and Cousin Sophia.

Big Man

When I was home on maternity leave, this vibrating chair (thank you Chad and Kristin) was the only way I could get a shower every day----something I was determined to do!

Then when Aaron started eating rice cereal at 3 months, we used the chair to feed him.

Now, it pretty much just sits in his room. But lately, he's been using it to help himself stand.

Leland and I remember sitting near him when he was just a couple of months old and watching him try so hard to reach the toys with his fingers.

What a big man he is becoming!

The stuffed animal basket is clearly in the way of proper window usage.

Aqua Man

We are taking swim lessons with our friends, Jen and Ben.

Jen and Ben

Ben is clearly a more focused diver than Aaron. Aaron is interested in the pole.

Fun With Mommy

Yesterday we organized my scrapbook scraps by solid or patterned, and then by warm, cool or neutral colors.

Aaron was very helpful.

Please, no comments about me being a neat freak. SORTING is an important developmental skill!

Aaron also organized by taste.
